England's run riot at Lord's Ireland all out for 38

England's Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad run riot at Lord's as shell-shocked Ireland are bowled out for a miserable 38, the lowest Test match score for 87 YEARS

Chris Woakes took six for 17 as England bowled Ireland out for the lowest ever Test score at Lord's to claim a 143-run win in just three days.

Stuart Broad claimed the other four to fall as the Irish were dismissed for 38 in just 15.4 overs - the fourth shortest Test innings in terms of balls faced - with only James McCollum reaching double figures.

It is the seventh-lowest total in Test history and the lowest score since New Zealand were bowled out for 26 in 1955 - 64 years ago.

Ireland arrived with real hope of a maiden Test victory at the home of cricket and when Olly Stone was bowled by the first ball of the day by Stuart Thompson.
That's a beauty, I was saying to the wife yesterday, as it looked like they might not win this one, that we can't win them all.
Happy with that, I wonder if there will be an open top bus for the Irish when they get home haha.
